A man and woman from Florida were killed Wednesday morning when their single-engine plane crashed, authorities said.
Kim Beachler, 43, of Delray Beach, and Aileen Malle, 34, of West Palm Beach, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cessna 182 crashed in woods. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause.
Dancers are charged
MIAMI _ Eighteen dancers were arrested at an adult nightclub and charged with prostitution, police said Wednesday.
Officers raided the Mint Lounge after receiving complaints that the women were performing lewd acts on stage.
Police also arrested the club's owner for operating a house of prostitution and a doorman for illegal possession of a firearm. Another employee was arrested for failing to pay child support. Marijuana also was seized from the club.
Deal reached in deaths
MOBILE, Ala. _ Attorneys have reached a $1.6-million settlement in a lawsuit arising from the deaths of a Florida woman and her fiance in a waterway collision.
Sharon B. Eastman, 46, of Panama City, and John W. Latimer, 59, died Feb. 10, 1993, when a tugboat pushing barges in fog-shrouded lower Mobile Bay struck their anchored sailboat.
Boy in court for threatening mom
ORLANDO _ A 10-year-old boy who threatened to stab his mother will be sent to a mental health and drug treatment facility for evaluation, a judge decided Wednesday.
The boy was charged with aggravated assault. His mother had punished him by taking away his teddy bear when he threatened her, Orange County sheriff's officials said.
The boy already is on medication to help him manage severe bouts of anger, a report said.
