76-year-old gives up wallet filled with cash

A 76-year-old man reported that two men approached him about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the Winn-Dixie parking lot on County Road 491 and demanded his wallet, authorities said. The man feared he might be hurt, so he gave up his wallet, which contained several thousand dollars in cash, credit cards and identification cards, Sheriff's spokeswoman Gail Tierney said. Tierney said the man had gone inside to fill a prescription and was walking back toward his car when he noticed another man exit the store. That man and another who had been standing outside approached him and asked for money. The thieves fled in a four-door Chevrolet sedan.

Police charge teenager

in driveway robbery

HOMOSASSA _ A teenager was arrested Wednesday on charges that he was one of four men who robbed a brother and sister at knifepoint as they sat in their driveway about 12:40 a.m. July 17. Leonard Fisher III, 19, of 1391 S Gettysburg Dr., Homosassa, faces charges of robbery and harassing a witness for his part in the Pine Street incident. Arrest papers say that Fisher was a passenger in a car when he and the brother began arguing. Fisher let two men out of the car, who robbed and threatened the brother with a knife. The sister used a portable phone to try to call police, but one of the men grabbed the phone and threw it into the woods.
