Falcons top pick Shannon Brown is scheduled for knee surgery in early August and will be out for a year.

Former Florida State fullback William Floyd, who had reconstructive surgery on his right knee last year, said he hopes to play in October.

VIKINGS: Minnesota, badly in need of help at outside linebacker, agreed to a five-year, $5.75-million contract with first-round pick Duane Clemons and signed 13-year veteran Darryl Talley, released by Atlanta in February. Starter Eddie McDaniel tore a knee ligament Tuesday.

BENGALS: Tim Krumrie, the team's defensive line coach, pleaded innocent Wednesday in Clinton County Municipal Court to charges he was driving drunk about 3:30 a.m. Monday near camp.

EAGLES: Coach Ray Rhodes said first-round draft choice Jermane Mayberry, a guard, will miss 4-5 days with pneumonia.

COWBOYS: Deion Sanders slightly strained his left hamstring running a deep pattern in a scrimmage with Houston Wednesday.
