The Florida Department of Citrus and New York advertising agency Ammirati Puris Lintas parted ways Thursday.
Ammirati, which in February won the estimated $25-million citrus advertising account, resigned citing differences on how the account should be handled. Ivy Leventhal, spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Citrus said: "We definitely had a mutual lack of creative agreement."
Ammirati won the account by beating out three finalists: West Wayne in Tampa, the Richards Group in Dallas and Grey Advertising in New York.
When asked if the department will open up a new review and start from scratch, or turn to the three finalists, Leventhal said, "We're discussing that over the next few days. We're hoping that very early next week we'll be able to make an announcement."
