Authorities arrested four men Thursday on charges they attacked another man after a dispute over a dog escalated. All four were being held at the Citrus County jail in lieu of $20,000 bail on charges of strong-armed robbery and burglary of a dwelling with battery.

The incident occurred when six men entered a home on N Point Lonesome Road on Thursday night looking for a man who had sold one of them a dog, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Gail Tierney said. That man was not home, angering the group, which then attacked a 25-year-old man who lives in the house, Tierney said.

The victim was punched and held down while a gold chain was ripped from his neck.

Those arrested, all Inverness residents, are James Dale Conley, 24, Joseph Lee McClellan, 21, Richard Lee Diamond, 36, and Danny Lee Duncan Jr., 35.

Tierney said a fifth suspect has not been identified, and prosecutors are considering whether to charge the sixth suspect.
