It's a tough sell

Thinking of selling your home yourself? Not having to pay a Realtor's commissions as high as 6 percent certainly sounds attractive, but doing it yourself isn't easy, New Choices magazine says.

In fact, the magazine reports, an estimated 9 out of 10 homeowners who try to sell by themselves "end up in the office of a professional real estate agent."

Now you can buy coffins that double as furniture or vice versa. Bill Hale, owner of Down to Earth Coffin Co. in Webster, N.H., says his coffins make great liquor cabinets. He also will install temporary shelves inside for books or put hinges on a specially made door so a coffin can double as a gun cabinet. Some customers use them as coffee tables.

If you're looking for the ultimate flower-show contest, the St. Charles Saloon in Columbia, Calif., hosts an annual poison oak show. Backpacker magazine says it includes an award for most potent-looking leaves.
