Two Largo men were arrested Thursday night after separate investigations into allegations that they harmed their sons. Bruce Delille, 35, of 1388 Belcher Road S, and Scott A. Evanson, 37, of 620 Clearwater-Largo Road, were charged with misdemeanor child abuse. They were taken to the Pinellas County Jail, where they were being held in lieu of $500 bail each. Police said Delille is accused of grabbing his 8-year-old son by the throat, shoving him into a van and throwing him to the ground. Capt. Joe Gillette said the boy was arguing with his brother over who would sit in the front seat of their car. According to Gillette, the boy's mother complained to police after she picked up her son from a babysitter and noticed small bruises under his chin. Evanson is accused of punching his 12-year-old son in the face twice and slapping him, causing bruises. The boy was treated at Columbia Largo Medical Center and released. Gillette said Evanson became angry over his dinner not being ready and accused the boy of stealing $20. The boy ran to a nearby service station for help.
