Every Monday, the Victory Flea Market reigns at the Hernando County Fairgrounds on U.S. 41 in Brooksville. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., inside and outdoors, 75 vendors offer a diverse collection of merchandise that ranges from fresh produce to jewelry, from crafts to clothes, from tools to kitchenware. New and used items are sold, and there is no charge to park or browse at the flea market, which opened in February. During peak days in the winter, as many as 150 vendors peddled their wares. Shoppers and vendors have become more scarce in the dog days of summer. Owner Jerry Price hopes to expand hours and days of operation. Plans also include adding an auction and live music. Price said he hopes to make Victory a destination for visitors to Hernando County.
