Trent Brown struck out four and allowed no runners in three innings of relief. Brian Becker had two hits but was thrown out at home on Tony McCladdie's one-out grounder to short after doubling to lead off the top of the fifth. Three Yankees combined on a shutout.
LATE FRIDAY _ OGDEN 5, BUTTE 2: The Copper Kings (16-20) dropped the final game of the first half of their Pioneer League season, making four errors, including three leading to three runs in the Ogden sixth. Third baseman Hernando Arredondo threw wide of home on a force attempt with the bases loaded, Leo Martinez threw wild to first on an attempted double play, and Trey Salinas dropped a throw to first. Salinas did hit his team-leading fourth home run.
