Dena Gross Leavengood has been named community liaison at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Before the appointment, Gross Leavengood was responsible for developing the aquarium's Learning Lab educational outreach programs.
Kenneth P. Cherven, president and chief executive officer of Pinellas Community Bank in Largo, has been chosen as national president of the American Institute of Banking.
Linda E. Bowen and Retha F. White have been promoted to vice presidents of the Bank of Tampa. Bowen was assistant vice president in human resources. White was assistant vice president in international banking.
SunTrust Bank Tampa Bay has made the following announcements: Marcus W. Greene has been named regional president of SunTrust Bank's St. Petersburg region; David B. McLaughlin has been promoted to first vice president, regional sales and credit manager of the north Pinellas region; and Scott C. Rutz has been named vice president, manager of the private banking division.
Robert D. Nagin has been elected vice president of the Building Officials Association of Florida. Nagin is assistant director of the Pinellas County Building Department and recently completed his term as chairman of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board. He is past president of the Suncoast Chapter of the Building Officials Association.
Dawn Visconti, an executive assistant for Anderson Consulting, was chosen to represent the Florida chapters of the Business and Professional Women at the association's national convention in Washington, D.C. Visconti is a member of the West Shore Evening Business and Professional Women.
Dean J. Landsman has been named operations manager of the life insurance division of Wittner & Co. of St. Petersburg. Before joining Wittner, Landsman was director of marketing for Don Rizzo, Associate of Maryland.
