Candidate sues to get on ballot

Mary Lou Wright, who was expected to run for state Republican committeewoman, filed a lawsuit Monday against the supervisor of elections, saying her qualifying paperwork had been mishandled. As a result, Wright said, her name was erroneously excluded from a list of candidates submitted to the state. Elections Supervisor Ann Mau told the Times last week that she had no record of the paperwork. The lawsuit, which includes affidavits from several people who say they witnessed the paperwork being turned in July 11, seeks to have Wright's name added to the ballot.
