Fire destroys house made of plastic foam

A fire Monday morning destroyed a home at 6990 S Maxwell Point, Homosassa Springs, that was built primarily of plastic foam and coated with stucco. Fire units from Connell Heights, Chassahowitzka, Homosassa and Crystal River responded to the blaze about 8 a.m. The only confirmed resident, Brenda Buzby, was not home at the time. A cause has not been determined, and the fire marshal's office has been called in to assist with the investigation.
