Consultant's business aids child care decisions

Harry G. Simons II has established a child care consulting business in Clearwater for the many companies that are getting involved in the child care needs of their employees.

Simons, a financial consultant, said JBS Child Care Consultants provides a complete cost-analysis of company needs for employees' preschool-age children.

"Businesses should be aware of what benefits and options are available," Simons said. "I work closely with human resource departments in determining what level of child care is appropriate for a company. It may be something as basic as arranging for employees to use pre-taxed income to pay for the cost of child care to a for-profit, corporate-operated care center with as many as 300 children.

"The companies make the decisions, our job is to obtain all the facts and figures so they can make educated choices."

Simons, 31, moved here in October 1995 from his native Chicago. He said it cost about $20,000 to start the business at 2519 McMullen-Booth Road, Suite 179.
