DONALD CALDWELL, Jefferson baseball: He recorded nine strikeouts in the Dragons' 11-5 win over Leto Tuesday. Now 3-0 for the season, Caldwell has fanned nine batters in each of his last two starts.

STEVEN WILLIAMS, Tampa Bay Tech baseball: He continued to make his play for the Hillsborough County batting title with a two-RBI home run in the Titans' 13-10 win over Plant City Tuesday. He added another RBI with a double in the Titans' 4-2 win over Lakeland Saturday, and recorded the pitching victory to improve to 2-0 for the season. He is batting over .500.

SANDY WHEELER, Tampa Prep softball: She continued to swing the power bat for the Terrapins with two triples in a 15-4 win over Wildwood Saturday. She added a triple and a single in an 8-1 loss to Tampa Catholic Tuesday and is hitting over .400.

ERIK EDWARDS, Bloomingdale boys soccer: He played the whole game as the sweeper for the West last weekend in the ninth annual Florida Athletic Coaches Association all-star game. His defensive play helped guide the West to a 3-2 win over the East. He also was selected a Class 6A all-state player.
