A Pinellas County judge Wednesday rejected a motion to dismiss a misdemeanor charge filed against the man accused of mailing a secret list of people with HIV to local newspapers.
Last month prosecutors charged funeral home owner Greg Wentz with violating the confidentiality of HIV-test results. Investigators say Wentz mailed computer discs of the secret AIDS list to the St. Petersburg Times and the Tampa Tribune, along with an anonymous letter accusing a former business partner, state health worker William Calvert III, of leaking information.
Wentz's trial is set for April 28.
Calvert also faces a misdemeanor charge, misuse of confidential information. His trial is set for May 12.
