The Baltimore Ravens reached an agreement with free-agent safety Brock Marion on Thursday, but announced at the last minute, with Marion sitting next to team officials, that they would not sign it.

Ravens owner Art Modell said he wants doctors to take another look at the fractured shoulder that sidelined Marion last season.

"It's very disappointing," said Marion, who was told moments before the news conference. "Not being able to sign today is really a surprise."

But Modell said medical reports showed Marion's left shoulder "might require corrective measures or therapy."

Free-agent OL Leo Goeas signed a multiyear deal. Terms were not disclosed.
