A lone bandit escaped with an undisclosed amount of money Friday in a holdup at SouthTrust Bank. No one was injured in the 11 a.m. robbery at 600 East Lake Road.
A Pinellas County sheriff's spokesman said the man went into the bank and handed a teller a note that implied he was armed, but no weapon was seen.
The robber was described as about 25, white, 5 feet 9 and 165 pounds. He was wearing a tan short-sleeve shirt and a white ball cap.
