NOTES: The good news is the Tampa Bay Racing Association's Super Q Sprints will run their first event this season at Sunshine. The bad news is it may be the last this year. Last season, five events were scheduled at Sunshine, but TBRA and track officials have not been able to come to terms for additional shows. The track wants TBRA to guarantee a sufficient number of cars to make the race interesting to fans. TBRA says it can't. If enough cars and fans show Saturday, additional events could be added. Tonight is the annual Jimmy Haynes Memorial, named after a popular young, local Sprint driver killed in a racing accident in Arizona a little more than decade ago. It is one of the top Sprint events of the year, so the car count should be up. These open-wheel, winged bullets are even quicker than Late Models. They run on alcohol and the fumes are almost a separate attraction. Most of the state's top Sprint drivers are expected. The other bad news is that Late Models are off the schedule, but will be back the following week. All of the other regular classes will be running, and Women's Enduros have been added to spice up the menu.
