CLASS OF THE COUNTY

BENETTA MUNGIN, King girls track: She won three 110, 220 and 440 sprints in the Charles Johnson Invitational Saturday.

NATALIE DECKERT, Bloomingdale softball: She extended her record to 7-0 last week with three shutouts in five days. In a 3-0 win over Brandon, she struck out 14; in a 3-0 win over Gaither, she struck out 15; and she added 11 strikeouts in a 2-0 win over Leto.

KRISTEN ABBOTT, Plant softball: The freshman leftfielder was 3-for-3 with four RBI in the Panthers' 9-1 win over Armwood Tuesday. She also stole three bases.

GERARD FERNANDEZ, King boys track: He was male MVP at the Charles Johnson Invitational, winning the mile, the 2-mile and running a leg on the winning 2-mile relay.

Boys track: Armwood: Jon Ordway; Bloomingdale: Sean Gillman. Boys soccer: Bloomingdale: Chip Atkins, Erik Edwards.

Class of the County members are chosen by the Times. Nominations can be made by coaches only to Ernest Hooper (226-3353) during office hours or to Terry Jones (684-2457) on Sunday evening and Monday morning.
