College wants seniors _ to become freshmen

(ran HT, CI, NP, SP, PT editions)

It's never too late to go to college. If you would like to consider some options at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, check out the open house for the Senior College at a 4 p.m. tea April 1 at the Triton Conference Center (located near the President's Dining Room) on the campus.

Among the offerings created just for seniors are:

Computer courses, two sections, on Saturday afternoons.

New courses, from Jerome Kern in the morning to ABCs of Finance and Investing in the afternoon.

Poetry _ Chaucer to Ogden Nash to You. If you write, you can bring along your musings and meet with other interested folks.

Tighten and Tone, four mornings a week; campus walks, followed by 30-minute low-impact upper- and lower-body workouts; ending with nutritional tips.

Country music and line dancing, an afternoon session.

Biography at Four each Thursday for a month. Focus is on Leonard Bernstein, Johnny Mercer, Gandhi, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, Dylan Thomas and George Washington.
