Wrestling match to raise money for injured trooper

A professional wrestling benefit will be held for Florida Highway Patrol trooper Deborah Hawkins at 7 p.m. Monday at the Stampede Saloon, 2480 East Bay Drive. Hawkins was struck by a car on the Howard Frankland Bridge this month. Tickets are $7 for the two-hour show and can be purchased the day of the event or by calling Mike Montesanto at the Stampede Saloon at 536-2668 after 6 p.m.

Sale to help skaters

compete out of state

CLEARWATER _ Skaters' Activity Fund Effort will hold a skating dress and equipment sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 5. Used figure-skating dresses (both practice and competition), skating boots, blades and other equipment will be sold to help SAFE pay to send skaters to out-of-state competitions. SAFE is a non-profit organization at Centre Ice in Countryside Mall. The sale will be at Mease Manor, 700 Mease Plaza, 2 miles west of Countryside Mall on SR 580 and next to Mease Countryside Hospital.
