Anne Madden has been named the Sun City Center Chamber of Commerce's Business Person of the Year. Madden is the president of Frame Crafters in Ruskin and was selected by the chamber for her unselfish service to the Sun City Center community. Also chosen for awards were Dallas Tuthill who was named the Community Man of the Year and Char Muir as the Community Woman of the Year.
Raymond S. Castro presented details of employment-related legislation passed in the 104th Congress and reviewed expected legislation by the 105th Congress at the recent National Employee Services and Recreation Association's meeting. He also spoke to the Bay Area Compensation Association on the topic of "Are Any Employees Really Exempt?," and he provided information regarding recent changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Thomas W. Lovelock has been elected president and chief executive officer of Group Technologies Corp. Lovelock served as vice president of Operations for Group Technologies from 1989 to 1993.
Lori S. Ballard, a local photographer with Aeriel Innovations Inc., recently entered six black and white photographs in the Florida State Fair and all six entries received awards. Two won first place. She also was accepted into the annual black and white exhibit at Artists Unlimited of Tampa where her piece titled Gladiolus can viewed through Monday.

Laping is systems manager and will manage the company's internal computer systems, data bases and web site.
Pollock is chief financial officer of the merchant banking division, and Redd is the investor relations manager.
Xenick is vice president of entertainment and will provide financial and transactional services to entertainment and to new media clients.
Maj. Jenna S. Venero of the Florida Marine Patrol graduated from the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute. The institute prepares Florida's criminal justice leadership for the challenges and changing demands of the future.
Tom Baum has joined Florida Design Communities as a sales associate at Walden Lake Polo and Country Club. He earned a bachelor of science degree in management from the University of Arizona.

Will Cagle and Stanley Kolan are the new owners of East Bay Raceway in Tampa. Cagle is a former dirt track racer, and Kolan is a real estate expert from New York. The first change to the dirt oval is a new name, Will Cagle's East Bay Speedway Inc., and plans are to make a modern state-of-the-art facility.
Leon Goldenberg, president of Milford Custom Homes, received a "Best in American Living Award" at the National Association of Home Builder's 53rd annual convention and exposition in Houston.
