Fire gutted a vacant house on Anderson Snow Road early Tuesday. Spring Hill fire officials said the blaze started about 3 a.m. in the kitchen and quickly spread to the attic of the home, about a block north of County Line Road. A witness saw smoke coming from the single-story house and called 911, authorities said. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to extinguish the fire. The house, which is owned by the state of Florida, was purchased as a right of way for the Suncoast Parkway. The state planned to use the house as a construction office, said Spring Hill fire Chief Michael Morgan. The origin of the fire was suspicious and under investigation, he said.
