NATIONAL TEACHERS' CONTEST: Timer Warner Communications is seeking entries for its 1996-97 National Teacher Awards competition, which recognizes classroom projects that use cable television as a base for enhancing classroom learning. The projects must have taken place between Sept. 1 and April 11. Winners, who will be chosen from school districts nationwide, will receive $1,000, a crystal apple sculpture and a trip to Washington, D.C., for the awards presentation.
