A woman was held at gunpoint in her home about 3 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.
Melanie Legore, of 6207 Kurt St., was cooking dinner when two men knocked on her back door. She answered, and they demanded she give them marijuana, a Hernando County sheriff's report said.
Legore tried to close the door, but one of the men aimed a gun at her and shoved the door open, knocking her to the floor, the report said. The men then grabbed Legore's hair, demanded she give them money and one asked, "Where is the safe?"
Legore told them she did not know about any marijuana or safe, the report said. They then locked her in the bathroom and ransacked her home; they disconnected the telephone receivers and fled. Legore escaped and ran to a neighbor's house and called 911.
Deputies later found drug paraphernalia in Legore's home, the report said. No charges have been filed.
