Questions to ask when considering an ALF

(ran PT SP NP HT TP editions)

Some questions to ask when considering an assisted living facility:

What services and activities do you provide?

What choice of accommodations is there?

Are you licensed? (Check with the appropriate regulatory agency such as the state department of health.)

How many people live here and how many staff members work here?

Is a licensed nurse on duty?

Do you charge an admission fee or refundable deposit?

Is the monthly rent all-inclusive or are there separate charges for services?

Do you provide financial assistance or subsidy if I exhaust my own financial resources?

Will I need to move if I need a higher level of care?

Do you offer guest accommodations for relatives and friends?
