The owner of Red Roe Restaurant decided not to challenge her latest fine for violating the county's noise ordinance. On Friday, Leslie Alfred paid the $155 she was fined Oct. 5 when a county inspector measured noise from the restaurant's outdoor band at 71 decibels, in violation of the county's 55-decibel limit for a commercial district near neighborhoods. Alfred, who had already paid $365 in fines since May, had vowed to fight the ordinance if fined again. "I had some other problems here, and I didn't have time to," Alfred said Monday. She said she may challenge the next fine.
