FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM: Wayne Atherholt, director of marketing and public relations for the Florida International Museum, said mailings have generated 70,000 advance reservations for the "Titanic" exhibit, which opens Nov. 15.

Working on mailing the education guides is Esther Hambor, 83, who said there are advantages to volunteering. "I save money because I am not shopping at the mall," she said. "My son says it keeps me off the street. I like to be busy. I just enjoy it. This is a great group to work with. I am very much behind this museum. It's a great cause and a good thing."

The hours are flexible and training is provided. Volunteers are needed as docents in the gallery, at the information center, to take tickets and to work as greeters. Call Anne Shamas at 822-3693.
