After serving in the United States Air Force for 22 years, Mike Pease went to the University of Florida to study journalism. He was a student intern in the newsphoto department of the Times and after graduation was hired as a staff photographer in Tampa. After 10 years in the Tampa bureau, Pease now works in St. Petersburg and likes to specialize in underwater photography. Pease and his wife Monique live in a 100-year-old renovated home in the historic Seminole Heights area of Tampa with their three cats and two birds. When he is not underwater making photographs, he likes to surf the net or spend time with his 1-year-old grandson.
