Artist presents oil painting workshop

Award-winning artist Lew Jackson will present an oil painting workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at TECO Hall, 137 S Parsons Ave., Brandon. The workshop will give participants a chance to paint in oils with a landscape paint-along. Bring a bag lunch. Jackson's paintings focus primarily on people, but he is an expert at depicting landscapes, still life and the villages and seaports he visited during his years living and working abroad. Library presents workshop on living trusts

Northwest Regional Library, 15616 Premiere Drive, will present a workshop titled "The Living Trust: Probate Phobia or Protection?" at 7 p.m. today. The free workshop will explain a living trust and how it works during your life and at your death. Attorney Sue Walker will conduct the educational workshop. In the past several years, state and federal laws have changed regarding wills, powers of attorney, probate and living trusts. A question-and-answer session will follow the workshop, which is open to the public. For information, call 264-3831.
