OBITUARIES

BROWN, RUTH E., 93, of Hudson, died Tuesday (Oct. 28, 1997) at National Health Care Center of Hudson. Born in Laugin, Pa., she came here four years ago from Columbia Cross Roads, Pa. She was a homemaker. Survivors include four sons, Kenneth, Morris, Earl M. and Charles W., all of Towanda, Pa.; three daughters, Carol Smith, Hudson, Joyce Richlin, Towanda, and Irene Murray, Columbia Cross Roads; a brother, John Beers, Athens, Pa.; two sisters, Twilia Shults and Dorothy Kerrick, both of Towanda; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. CARLSON, STEVE, 92, of Port Richey, died Saturday (Oct. 25, 1997) at Columbia New Port Richey Hospital. He came here 26 years ago from his native Chicago. He was an employee for Blawknox, East Chicago, Ind., and was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, New Port Richey. Survivors include his wife, Pearl; and several nieces and nephews. FARR, JAMES V., 90, of Hudson, died Tuesday (Oct. 28, 1997) at Baypoint Village, Hudson. Born in Sayre, Pa., he came here 22 years ago from Erie, Pa. He was a retired building contractor and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Egypt Shrine Temple, Tampa, and the American Legion, Holiday, and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10167, Holiday, and the Eagles. Survivors include two nieces, Jean Decker, Port Richey, and Joan Poppleton, Pine City, N.Y. Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home, Bartelt Road Chapel, Holiday.

HESS, ELFRIEDE W., 70, of Port Richey, died Monday (Oct. 27, 1997) at Columbia Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point. Born in Germany, she was a sales clerk for Luria's. Survivors include her husband, Herbert W.; a son, Peter Puleo, Queens, N.Y.; a daughter, Madelin Rivera, Williston Park, N.Y.; and one grandson. Faupel Funeral Home, Port Richey.

HUSSEY, NORA NADINE, 67, of New Port Richey, died Tuesday (Oct. 28, 1997) at home. Born in Gainesville, Ga., she came here three weeks ago from Cumming, Ga. Survivors include four sons, Walter Allen, Spartansburg, S.C., Darrel Allen, Inman, S.C., Ernest Allen, Seneca, S.C., and Christopher Allen, New Port Richey; six daughters, Karen Henry, Zephyrhills, Nora Murphy, Gowers Corner, Jane Harold, Sturgis, S.D., Linda Walls, Zephyrhills, and Brenda Lanier and Rita Kinsman, both of Red Level, Ala.; and several grandchildren.
