There are plenty of Halloween events this weekend. Trick or treaters are sure to find something to meet their spooky needs.
SAFE HALLOWEEN: From 5 to 8 tonight at City Park, adjacent to the Chamber of Commerce in Inverness. Sponsored by the Inverness Olde Town Association and the Citrus Times, Safe Halloween includes a costume contest with prizes awarded in nine divisions, games, booths and food. Free admission.
MALL-O-WEEN: From 6 to 8 tonight at the Crystal River Mall. Events include trick or treat, games, costume contest and special performances by Ronnie's Academy of Dance.
ACOUSTIC HALLOWEEN: The Celtic folk music duo Tory Voodoo performs at 8 tonight at the Studio Art Center, 114 NE 5th St., Crystal River. Tickets are $6. Call Tom Ellis at 795-2615 for reservations.
HALLOWEEN DANCE: The Italian Social Club of Citrus County, located on County Road 486 in Hernando, is having a Halloween dance tonight. Costume contest, live music by the Rhythm Tones and snacks. Admission is $4.
HAUNTED HOUSE: From 6 to 8 tonight, Cypress Cove Care Center, 700 SE 8th Ave., Crystal River, hosts a haunted house. Free candy and drinks.
SENIOR CENTER: From noon to 2 today, the East Citrus Community Center, 9907 E Gulf to Lake Highway, Inverness, and the Lecanto Multi-Purpose Center, 1410 S Lecanto Highway, Lecanto, each host a Halloween party. Costumes are not required, but the best costume will be chosen at each site, and the winner will be declared the "Ghoul Grand Marshall" of the event. Music will be provided by the Pure Country Band in Inverness and by dee jay Art Locke in Lecanto. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $1.
NOT-SO-SPOOKY: Story hour at 4 p.m. today at the Central Ridge Library, 425 W Roosevelt Blvd. in Beverly Hills. The Not-So-Spooky Story Hour contains songs, stores and maybe a costume parade. For information, call the library at 746-6622.
CITRUS SPRINGS: A Halloween party will be held 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Edward W. Penno VFW Post. Chili dinner will be served, and admission is $4 per person.
