UT junior forward Dexter Rouse was named Sunshine State Conference soccer Player of the Week. He had two goals and an assist in wins over SSC foe Barry University and defending NAIA national champ Lindsey Wilson.

Tampa (12-1, 3-0), ranked No. 1 in Division II, got two goals and an assist from freshman T.J. Delucia in a 4-1 win over No. 6 Barry 4-1. Goalie Eric Sims had six saves, five in the second half.

Saturday, the Spartans defeated Lindsey Wilson 3-2 in overtime as Henrik Nebrelius scored two goals to tie his UT single-season record of 24, which he set in 1995. This Saturday, UT hosts Lynn at 7:30.

HALLOWEEN MATCH-UP: Tonight, No. 2 Tampa (23-1) hosts Florida Tech at 7:30 for an SSC volleyball match at the Martinez Sports Center. Saturday, the Spartans are home for an SSC match against No. 6 Rollins at 7:30 p.m.

Last week, the Spartans swept feated North Florida, Florida Southern and Saint Leo.

In the last three weeks (12 matches, 26 games), sophomore hitter Becky Hart is hitting .325, with 54 kills and only 14 errors in 123 attacks.

TWO THIRDS: The men and women were third in the SSC cross-country championships at Lakeland last weekend. The women missed their top conference finisher of last year, senior Mackenzie Carignan with a leg injury. Freshman Emily Saunders was UT's top female (fourth), while Tom Vars (sixth) led the men.

CREW: The varsity crew goes to Atlanta this weekend to compete in the Head of the Chattahoochee Regattta. The team will bring 12 rowers and three coxswains for the 3{-mile race. The women's lightweight four was fourth of 18 boats at Knoxville's Head of the Tennessee River Regatta last weekend. The women's open four was sixth of 20 boats.

ALSO ATLANTA BOUND: The swim team will compete in the Emory Invitational meet Saturday. The Spartans will face host Emory (Division III) and Division I schools Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, and the College of Charleston.
