TIME and SITE: 7:30, Gators Stadium, Land O'Lakes.

WHEN LAST THEY MET: In one of the ugliest games in the county in years, the Bulldogs and Gators combined for eight turnovers and 120 yards in penalties. But in the end, it was the Bulldogs who prevailed by a slim 6-0 score. The lone score came on a 5-yard touchdown run by Mike Barber.

THE LOWDOWN: After losing a hard-fought and crucial district game at Hernando last week, the Bulldogs are at the most challenging point in the season. The big question is, how will they respond? The injured ankle of wide receiver Boo Boo McKay, the sore knee of quarterback Jaimie Sullivan and the recovering hernia of Terry Allen seem to make the Bulldogs even more vulnerable. But alas, this team is not the best in the county by fluke. The Gators have played some of their best ball in years this season and will give Zephyrhills all it can take, but it should not be enough. The Bulldogs have to get back on track and the Gators are in the way. Not a good position to be in on homecoming night.

MILLS' PREDICTION: Bulldogs 28, Gators 7.

COTEY'S PREDICTION: Bulldogs 20, Gators 10.

LEE'S PREDICTION: Bulldogs 33, Gators 13.

SPRINGSTEAD (5-2) at PASCO (6-1)

TIME AND SITE: 7:30, W.F. Edwards Stadium, Dade City.

WHEN LAST THEY MET: Senior tailback Cleo Stinyard rushed for 169 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Pirates to a 39-29 victory. Going into the game, Pasco was 5-2 while Springstead was unbeaten in seven games. The victory sealed the Sunshine Athletic Conference title for the Pirates.

THE LOWDOWN: After a week off, during which the coaching staff got a chance to scout Hernando, the Pirates know they have to finish the season strong if there is going to be a chance to make the playoffs. Before Pasco can think about Hernando, it has to consider Springstead. Pasco's offense is finally taking shape and tailback Norman Graham is starting to assert himself, but what is still shaky is Pasco's passing game. That may feature more prominently against Springstead than expected. Either way, this game is another high-scoring venture.

MILLS' PREDICTION: Pirates 30, Eagles 21.

COTEY'S PREDICTION: Pirates 27, Eagles 17.

LEE'S PREDICTION: Pirates 28, Eagles 14.
