HILLSBOROUGH OBITUARIES

FAOUR, GEORGE F., 80, of Tampa died Wednesday (Oct. 29, 1997) at University Community Hospital-Carrollwood. He was born in Beirutand moved to the Tampa area from Warner Robins, Ga., in 1972. He was a retired lieutenant colonel for the Air Force with more than 33 years of service. He served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Carrollwood, and a member of the Retired Officer's Association. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne H.; two sons, Michael F. and John J., both of Tampa; two daughters, Marie A. Bobak, Tampa, and Renee T. Trebilcock, Dublin, Ohio; and a brother, Dominick, Brooklyn, N.Y. Glass Funeral Home, Tampa.

FOJACO, ROSALIE M., of Tampa, died Thursday (Oct. 30, 1997) in Tampa. A Tampa native, she was a registered nurse and was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church. HOLBROOK, GEORGE J. "JAKE," 90, of Tampa died Thursday (Oct. 30, 1997) in Tampa. A Tampa native, he was a Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Coast Guard. Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Homes & Cemeteries, Garden of Memories Chapel, Tampa.

MATHIS, VERNA LOU, 52, of Dover died Wednesday (Oct. 29, 1997) at South Florida Baptist Hospital, Plant City. A homemaker, she was born in Marianna, and moved to Dover from Altha, seven years ago. Survivors include her husband, Samuel E., Dover. Holloway Funeral Home, Oldsmar.

MILLER, HELEN CARTER, 82, of Oldsmar formerly of Tampa, died Monday (Oct. 27, 1997) at Harborside Health Care of Tampa Bay. She was born in Charlotte, N.C., and came to Tampa several years ago from Chester, S.C. She moved to Oldsmar last year. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her son, H. Lee Jr., Tampa. NEMETH, BERNADINE, 61, of Tampa, died Friday (Oct. 31, 1997) in Tampa. She was born in Whitehall, Pa., and came here in 1995 from Fort Lauderdale. She was an executive secretary for credit reporting company and was a parishioner of Catholic Church of The Incarnation. Survivors include her husband, Joseph F.; a daughter, Terry Ann Jablonski, Tampa; and a sister, Theresa Weissner, Northampton, Pa. WARD, SISTER MARY JOHN, S.N.J.M., 85, of Tampa, died Wednesday (Oct. 29, 1997) in Tampa. She was born in St. Louis, and moved to Tampa from Winchester, Va., in 1971. A religious teacher, she taught at Sacred Heart Academy and Academy of the Holy Names. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary and an arts and crafts instructor to senior citizens. Survivors include a brother, George Frese, Seffner, and two sister-in-laws, Marie and Betty Frese, both of Seffner. Marsicano-B. Marion Reed-Stowers Funeral Home, Tampa.

WILSHER, EDNA NORTHCUT, 78, of Mango, died Thursday (Oct. 30, 1997) in Mango. Born in Mango, she lived all but five years of her life in Mango. She was a homemaker, a member of Temple Terrace Church of Christ and was a graduate of Brandon High School. Survivors include her husband, Arlin Ress Chunn; two sons, Arlin Jr., San Diego and Stephen, Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters, Sheran Jeffery, Temple Terrace, Dalinda Wilsher, Birmingham, Ala., and Arleen Pope, Brandon; a brother, John Northcutt, Jacksonville; a sister, Ida Grau, Tampa; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
