Weather washes out city's Fall Festival

Thanks to Mother Nature, Inverness got a trick instead of a treat Friday evening. An all-day downpour forced organizers to cancel the annual Fall Festival, which was scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at City Park next to the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce building. The event will not be rescheduled. But if all the planning went to waste, at least the candy didn't: Some 300 bags of goodies that were supposed to be delivered at the Inverness gathering were shipped to Crystal River Mall where another Halloween festival was held.

Alyssa Anderson and Chad Ricketson will perform as tap dance partners at the 27th Annual Festival of the Arts in Inverness at 3 p.m. today and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Anderson's name was listedincorrectly, and Ricketson's name was omitted in the Oct. 10 edition of the Citrus Times.
