Bob McEwen of Indian Shores was elected president of the Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Association in September at a conference in Atlantic Beach, N.C. His election marks a second term for McEwen, who was association president 25 years ago.
The association was founded in 1945 by reporters, photographers and combat artists, mainly recruited from newspapers and radio stations, who served in World War II.
Conrad Milne, a 1990 graduate of Countryside High School, was commissioned as a Marine second lieutenant in August. He graduated summa cum laude in August from Auburn University in Alabama with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
During college, he was a member of the Auburn Soccer Club, the Golden Key National Honor Society, Pi Tau Sigma Mechanical Engineering Society, and Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. He was the Alabama Governor's Enlisted Representative and received the Distinguished Military Graduate Award. He is the son of Christine and Ralph Reis, Clearwater, and Graham Milne, Tarpon Springs.
