Robert H. Mohlenbrock, professor emeritus at Southern Illinois University, speaks on Exploring our National Forests at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Museum of Science and Industry. An internationally known botanist and photographer, Mohlenbrock writes regularly on our national forests and parks for Natural History magazine and wrote Illustrated Flora of Illinois, Guide to the Vascular Plants of Illinois. This free lecture is co-sponsored by the USF Botanical Garden. Call 974-2329.

The Institute for the Healing of Racism will hold a public meeting featuring author Nathan Rutstein at 7 p.m. Friday in Davis Hall, room 130. Rutstein will discuss ideas from his book, Healing Racism in America: A Prescription for the Disease. He also will launch the third series of the St. Petersburg Institute for the Healing of Racism sessions from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday at the St. Petersburg Baha'i Center. Free.
