A thunderstorm forced an Orlando-bound plane to land in Tampa on Sunday morning when the aircraft ran low on fuel, Tampa International Airport officials said.
American Airlines Flight 876 from the Dallas/Fort Worth airport circled Orlando's airport while waiting for a storm to clear, said Paul Anderson, assistant director of operations at TIA. There were 109 passengers and crew aboard.
When the aircraft ran low on fuel, it was forced to land in Tampa at 10:55 a.m. No one was hurt.
The weather restrictions were lifted shortly afterward, and the plane left an hour later for Orlando.
