The Seminole girls basketball team opened the game with a 17-0 run and the second half with a 25-0 run to demolish Tarpon Springs 64-29 in both schools' season opener.
Tarpon played without its top players, 6-footer Kara Sullivan and Megan Campbell, who were competing in the regional volleyball tournament.
Karrie Machen led the balanced Seminole scoring with 17 points. Holly Groves had 12 and Kelly McGuire and Danyelle Smith each had 10.
Seminole was 23-for-52 and held the Spongers to 8-for-34. The Warhawks outrebounded Tarpon 44 to 20, even though their tallest starter was 5 feet 11.
Stephanie Kingsford led the Spongers with 9 points on three three-pointers.
"It was a typical early game," Seminole coach Tom Anderson said, "a little ragged. Tarpon was missing a couple of its player, so it gave us a chance to play all our players."
