Hillsborough County sheriff's officials filed more charges Wednesday against the men they say are responsible for a rash of armed robberies in eastern Hillsborough a few weeks ago.
After surrendering to police on Oct. 23, Plant City residents Frederick Allen, 22, and Alexander Patterson, 23, were charged with the armed robberies of a Tampa hair salon, an auto parts store, a Pizza Hut and a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant. Aggravated assault charges were filed against them Wednesday, records show, and Allen was charged with kidnapping and throwing a deadly missile.
Both suspects have a history of drug and robbery convictions, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. They were identified from police file photos by victims of the robberies. Allen and Patterson were held at the Hillsborough County Jail on Wednesday in lieu of $150,000 and $50,000 bail, respectively.
