TIME AND SITE: 7:30 tonight, Bulldog Stadium.
LAST WEEK: In make-up games on Saturday, Zephyrhills defeated Land O'Lakes 28-17 and Central scored two touchdowns in the final 11 minutes to down Dunnellon 14-12.
KEY POINTS: This will be an uphill battle for the Bears, since Zephyrhills has rolled over every district opponent except Hernando, which is unbeaten in the district. But the motivation will be there for Central, which has not been mathematically eliminated from making the playoffs. If the Bears pull off the upset and Hernando beats Pasco, there will be a three-way tie for the district runner-up spot between Central, Pasco and Zephyrhills. Zephyrhills is not primed for an upset, though. The Bulldogs' Terry Allen still leads Pasco County Class 4A running backs with 973 yards and 14 touchdowns, while in the air, Teon Black and Demetrius "Boo Boo" McKay have 902 yards receiving for 11 touchdowns. . . . Although Central has struggled to put points on the board this season, averaging 12.3 a game, it still has managed to spread the offense between three running backs. Eric Coon leads the team with 712 yards and nine touchdowns while Darrell Scott has run for 362 yards and Bruce Woods 303.
