"An Evening with the Authors" featuring Florida authors and illustrators autographing their books is planned for 6:30 to 9 tonight at Clearwater East Library, 2251 Drew St. The event is to include a silent auction and book sale, and there will be complimentary wine and refreshments.
Cost is $10 a person and proceeds will benefit the Greater Clearwater Library Foundation. The event is presented by the GFWC-Clearwater Community Woman's Club. For information, call 584-4874 or 796-5180.
Guest authors will be Canter Brown Jr., historian-in-residence at the Tampa History Center; Eleanor Coerr, author of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes; Frank Roderus, winner of the 1996 Spur Award for best western fiction; Mary Evans Seeley, author of Season's Greetings From the White House; Monica Brandies, gardening columnist; Gerald Hausman, writer of American Indian tales; Mac Perry, author of Florida Indian Mounds You Can Visit; Angela Hunt, author of 48 books for children and adults; Roger Bansemer, artist-author of books on nature and ballooning; Barbara Birenbaum, author of children's books on Hanukkah; Anne McKay Garris, author of Grandma Was Right, a guide for modern parents; Virginia Esquinaldo, illustrator of Who's Under Grandma's Quilt; and Guy Zona, author and poet.
