WHAT: Class 4A volleyball regional semifinals and finals.
HUDSON WILL PLAY: at Bishop Moore, meeting the hosts at 4 p.m. today. Wakulla plays Jacksonville Bishop Kenny at 6, and the two winners meet at 8 p.m.
ZEPHYRHILLS WILL PLAY: at Pace, meeting Mount Dora at 4:30 p.m. CST. Pace plays Fernandina Beach at 6, and the two winners meet at 7:30.
OUTLOOK: The Bulldogs should beat Mount Dora using its height and the craftiness of setter Lizabeth Torres. Fernandina Beach is a strong team, and Pace is an unknown because of what some feel was a weak schedule. Fernandina Beach would give Zephyrhills the most trouble in a semifinal because it has a 5-9 leaper and 6-0 freshman hitter who are strong at the net, and an all-area setter. Hudson beat Bishop Moore once, and that was when the team was still in transition and trying to find a combination to replace Kerri Rulison's loss. The Cobras are much more comfortable now it seems and playing with a great deal of confidence. Kenny won its quarterfinal 15-1, 15-0 and have two big middle hitters, while Wakulla has one great hitter but may not have the team quickness to stop Kenny, or Hudson for that matter.
