Most people feel safe in their homes, survey finds

Despite all the scare stories, 99 percent of you feel safe in your homes. You should: 87 percent of homeowners have installed deadbolt locks, 48 percent have outdoor or sensor or otion lighting, 24 percent have alarm systems, 23 percent own a gun and 16 percent participate in neighborhood patrols, says a Hearst Magazine/Pier 1 Imports survey.
