The glow of the holiday

Published Dec. 22, 1997|Updated Oct. 2, 2005

Waterways and walkways in Citrus County were lit up over the weekend, as the Celebration of Lights opened at Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park and the Homosassa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce's boat parade wound its way along Homosassa River on Friday. The park's display continues from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. through Sunday, except on Christmas. The admission fee of $2 for adults and $1 for children 6 to 16 will be waived Christmas Eve, when the park will have a 6 p.m. non-denominational service.

Visitors to Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park get a glowing view of the park, its walkways lined with lights for the holidays.

More than a dozen boats take part Friday in the Homosassa Boat Parade.
