Storage warehouse may go up on Bearss

A mini-warehouse may be headed for the southwest corner of Bearss Avenue and N 12th Street.

Allen Murphy wants to rezone 9 acres to a planned development to build 87,200 square feet of storage space in addition to 3,200 square feet for an office/manager apartment. A traffic analysis conducted by project manager George L. Deakin graded the level of road activity a C on a scale of A to F. The report also concluded that the project would not generate much additional traffic.

The application is to go before a hearing master June 15. (RZ 98-824)

CARROLLWOOD: A pie-shaped parcel near Citrus Park Mall is being considered for commercial development.

Planners at Ratliff and Associates Inc. want to rezone 53 acres on the southeast corner of Sheldon and Paglen roads for commercial property. The request is to be heard by the zoning hearing master June 15. (RZ 98-822).

KEYSTONE: County commissioners last week approved Robert Smith's request to rezone 25 acres on Patterson Road and a half-mile south of Tarpon Springs road to one home per acre from a planned development. (RZ 98-358).

KEYSTONE: A proposal to build several homes on 10 acres next to Lake Jackson was shot down by county commissioners. The plan drew criticism from residents who were concerned about the effects of the development on the lake and wetlands, even though developer Jack Ward suggested the watery conditions would prevent him from building the 10 homes (RZ 8-387).

KEYSTONE: The commission gave a thumbs-up to Westbrook Westchase's request to rezone 26 acres at the northwest corner of Linebaugh Avenue and Sheldon Road for a planned development. (PRS 98-609)
