Jupiter outlasts Tampa

Tampa Yankees pitcher Zach Day struck out eight in seven innings and gave up only three hits and one earned run. It wasn't enough, as the Hammerheads rallied to defeat the Yankees 4-3 Sunday.

His team trailing 3-1 with two runners on in the ninth, Jupiter shortstop Tomas De la Rosa tripled, driving in two runs, then scored on a wild pitch by Ryan Bradley.

ST. PETE 7, SARASOTA 6: Catcher Neil Garcia powered the Rays, going 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI.

The Red Sox trailed 7-2 going into the ninth. Rays relief pitcher Edward Benesh allowed four earned runs on three hits. Denis Pujals replaced Benesh and earned the save.

CLEARWATER 6, ST. LUCIE 3: Mark Raynor singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and Clearwater went on beat St. Lucie for the third time in as many games.

DUNEDIN 6, FORT MYERS 4: Billy Koch pitched five strong innings and Brent Abernathy and Jeff Maloney each had two RBI to lead the visiting Blue Jays.
