In the five-inning 11-1, championship game win over Armwood, he was 3-for-4 at the plate with two home runs and five RBI. His solo 415-foot shot in the seventh gave Durant a 4-3 semifinal win over Jefferson.
LISA CARLOCK, Bloomingdale girls tennis: She recorded upset wins over Plant City's No. 1 seed, Lakshmi Venkiteswaren (1-6, 6-1, 6-2) and Brandon's No. 2 seed Jessellee Cuaresma (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) to win the Class 6A, District 6 title at No. 1 singles. She also won the Class 6A, Region North III title with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Melbourne's Anna Varlamov.
JESSICA SILVER, Sickes softball: Her .556 batting average is the best in Hillsborough County. In the Gryphons' 6-5 Western Conference semifinal win over Gaither on Thursday, she scored one run and drove in two.
BOBBY KRUEGER, Plant City boys tennis: He extended his season record to 14-0 in winning the Class 6A, District 6 and Region North III titles at No. 2 singles last week. The Raiders won both meets. He was awarded a default win in the semifinals and beat Tampa Bay Tech's Ketan Patel 6-1, 6-2 in the finals. In the regional final he defeated Melbourne's Caleb Michaud 6-2, 6-0.
