There are more than 5-million licensed drivers in Florida who are older than 50. About 50,000 of these drivers are older than 90. All those years of driving add up to a lot of experience on the road. But over the years, many drivers develop bad habits.

AARP developed 55 Alive/Mature Driving in 1979 to help the older driver brush up on the rules of the road. This 8-hour, two-day course, which emphasizes safety, has an added incentive: a reduction in the cost of your car insurance for three years after successful completion of the 55 Alive Safe Driving Course.

Here is a list of classes in your area. The fee is $8; make checks payable to AARP. Bring your driver's license to the first class.

Registration is required because classes fill up quickly. For more information call 576-2895.
